As Spring 2018 New York Fashion Week comes to a close, we’re diving right into the top beauty trends we spotted. The prominent theme that emerged across the board was welcoming diversity and individuality. We saw a range of unusual style trends from models sporting smudged lipstick, bushy brows, and natural freckles all the way to a pregnant stomach! The fashion was certainly unforgettable and we’re all about it.

Graphic Eyes

Bold liner in unique shapes was somewhat of a phenomenon on the runway this season. Negative Space, Reverse Cat eyes, and Architectural Liner each had their moment to shine. The most notable look was the Rounded Wing; worn by several models such as Lily Aldridge, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner. This edgy liner is definitely something we expect to see more of in 2018.

How to get the look: Stamp Makeup Geek's ‘Enchanted Forest’ eyeshadow shade ($6.00) onto the outer corner up to the brow bone with our BOM-15, OMNIA Rose Gold Pencil Brush. Take our BOM-21, OMNIA Rose Gold Detail Liner Brush to clean up fallout and even out the blurred edges. Note: this look is not meant to be a crisp wing, rather a gritty silhouette akin to a reverse tadpole.

No-Makeup Makeup

Celebrating personal quirks and taking a more laid-back approach to beauty is something we can get behind at Royal and Langnickel. It’s too easy to get wrapped up in a “Survival of the Prettiest” mentality as cut-throat beauty standards take a tighter hold on the industry. Taking a minimalistic stand, brands such as MAC and Clinique launched sheer coverage foundations to appreciate our unique skin as opposed to masking it.

How to get the look: Take a quarter-sized amount of MAC ‘Next to Nothing Foundation’ ($31) and dab onto the face. Spread and blend makeup with the BOM-08, OMNIA Rose Gold Angled Foundation Brush. Place into the the crease with BOM-14, OMNIA Rose Gold Crease Brush and create a soft contour. Load Laura Geller Eye Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner ‘Beguiling Brown’ ($22) onto a BOM-21, OMNIA Rose Gold Detail Liner Brush and create faux-freckles to desire. Spritz OGX ‘Bodifying + Fiber Full Sugar High Tousle Spray’ ($8.99) into air-dried hair and tousle tendrils.

Technicolor Hair

Standing out from the crowd and creating new boundaries was seen from streetwear fashion all the way to business attire. Bright, neon shaded strands was all the rave on the runway.

How to get the look: Create a pastel base with Lime Crime ‘Unicorn Hair in Dilute’ ($16). Apply The Gypsy Shrine ‘Unicorn Dreams Iridescent Face Glitter’ ($10) with skin-safe neutral balm onto roots of hair with BOM-07, OMNIA Foundation Brush.

Inner-Corner Action

With a fusion of no-makeup makeup and breaking boundaries with vibrant color, inner-corner shading takes form. This eye trend was seen paired with 90’s style streetwear, minimalistic clothing, as well as feminine fashion in contrasting colors.

How to get the look: Take NYX Hot Singles Eyeshadow ‘Strike a Pose’ ($4.50) onto BOM-14, OMNIA Rose Gold Crease Brush and blur into crease. Pack NYX Vivid Brights Crème Color ‘Cyberpop’ ($9.99) into the inner corner with BOM-18, OMNIA Rose Gold Detail Brush.

Glitter and Gloss Eyes

No longer limited to lippies, glitter and gloss lids took the runway by storm. Shades of soft pinks, reds, and oranges seemed to be the most popular way to flaunt this special eye look.

How to get the look: Apply MAC Eyeshadow Pan ‘Expensive Pink’ ($6.00) all over lid up to the brow bone with BOM-12, OMNIA Rose Gold Shader Brush. Dust Lit Cosmetic Shimmer Glitter ‘ABBA’ ($16) over lid with BOM-18, OMNIA Detail Brush. Top with NYX ‘Clear Lid Lacquer’ ($7.00) using BOM-09, OMNIA Concealer Brush for a glossy finish.
